Now just have the blanket made into a capote and you'll be ready for those chilly Alabama summer nights...

    Welcome back Cirthalion.

Your wedding photo from you Oct 2006 post has been circulating on this forum for the last day or so.

The Candian National is beautiful. You wear it well (proudly).

I live in New Hampshire but I was born in Montgomery AL.

Looking forward to more pics (we LOVE LOVE LOVE pictures on this forum - as you know).

Thanks for the pics, you wear it well.

Like Ham, I'm concerned about the various maple leaf tartans - worse, I'm guessing its one of those tartans that monitors play hell with and the only safe decisions are from a eyeball on a swatch. Maybe next highland games that rolls around I'll ask to see the kiltmaker's swatch books.

But that confusion has put me off the decision making for a while. Do come from a line of folks from Nova Scotia that moved on south so don't think there's ever been a time in my life I didn't own a Hudson's Bay Blanket....the ex took 'ours' during the divorce proceedings. Didn't fight it, let her have the old one and bought me a new one. Still have it and still use it.

Did I miss what mill wove your maple leaf tartan? Its still on my list to honor the branches of my family that spent many generations there...some from the clearances...and a few Loyalists seeking safety.

Very nice look! Like you, Cirthalion, we got a HBC blanket for a wedding present. Unlike Ron, I got to keep "ours" later on!
