The ears confused him; not freaked. He wondered if I also had some sort of "Islander" heritage.
Perhaps you should've invited him over some evening for some "long pork".

Here's the thing that leaps out at me: he didn't say anything about the kilt being traditional, vice them newfangled knife pleats!

I've been told by a couple local Scottish ladies how well I wear the kilt "even if it's sitting a wee low."
I'll admit it... I wear it at the hips. I'm more comfortable that way, and comfort is why I wear the kilt to bvegin with. Besides... I'll wear it at the waist if I'm ever in a formal kilt suit and I lose the corpulance in my midsection!

And, Bradley... as P1M would say... guid an ye!

I wondered if he was going to notice the box pleats. I don't think he really saw the back of the kilt. I stood facing him. He was very busy and moved around alot. He babbled something about not taking Nikki (my hispanic wife) to Scotland unless I wanted the Spanish onion farmers to steal her or something. I have no clue what he was talking about. He was "all over the place" when he talked...

It is always nice when someone "in the know" notices and complements you on the way it is worn As far as the ears go, all I'll say is it is not me, but I'll never judge or criticize a man that does. Especially a brother of the kilt.

Cool story Brad! Way to 'represent'!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
