    A good wool jacket has nothing to fear from a pin. My brooch is a hand-forged penannular, so has a much thicker pin than modern brooches, and the jacket has no holes or rough spots. The weave of the wool allows the pin to pass through without tearing the fibers.

    Canadian Kilt is referring to the hole that is sometimes found in the left lapel of jackets. It is where a bouttoniere is placed. This is a small bouquet or single flower that men wear for formal or dress occasions. The bouttoniere is placed through the hole and pinned on the back of the lapel.

    ahh,, I understand.. I don't think my jacket has a hole there as I had to use a magnet last time I had a flower there
