It's a joke where neighbour countries vote for each other these days and it is nothing whatsoever to do with the song.

If I remember rightly the UK 1966 performer was Kenneth McKellar and that he sang kilted.
The song A Man Without Love came 9th which is considerably better than we are able to get these days with all the parochialism that goes on.
He will be 80 on June 23rd.

i think uk is trying to sabote the contest.Scooch was terrible and i dont understand how you took points from malta.Anyway Türkiye couldnt make it but a türk singer serifovic won it is a balm for us.And dervish was really good and touched the hearts but i think the melody was strange for easterns. Also UK gave 12 points to us it must be the müslümans who live there.

I didn't see the show but I heard Ireland/dervish came near to last!! very sad. I didn't like the song they chose, but they were still great.
We have Australian Idle here, and it too is rubbish.

Bleth pandering!
To be honest about it the pandering lyrics do take away from what is otherwise a pretty song. I fear that Political Correctness will erase our Scottish/Irish heritage. Worse the fear of kilts will effectively drive them out of existence as well.
