    You flatter me, Sir.

I never would have considered wearing a kilt during my youth, so I applaud your initiative.

And as for your lady nemeses, we can see them on display in every Jerry Springer episode. A shame, but not a pity.

LK-13, it is sad to here your story. I have similar regrets about my wedding. Knowing personally, since I was a florist for a while untill my aversion to money turned me toward the paramedic thing, the fisacos that most weddings become I tried to avoid one famillial hoopla and did not have the groomsmen or my self kilted. I regret it to this day. And the families made a fiasco of the affair anyhow. (BTW nice to see a fellow palmerite on here)

    Talking

Reminds me of a friends wedding back in the late 80's. The groom is a Glaswegian-born gent, very proud of his heritage. His fiancee, albeit of Scots ancestry herself, was of the Pentacostal faith, and her family and clergy were admamant that there be no kilts, and most definately no pipes, in the wedding. To this day, I do not know why he married her. I would have called it all off, right there and then.

Still, the wedding went as planned, albeit kiltless.

The groom's kid brother and I, however, were not giving in THAT easy. We arranged a local piper, kept him hidden until the reception, and just as the newly-married couple were to enter the reception hall (the church hall, btw) the piper arrived in full skirl, to lead them in. You could see the grooms face, glowing with pride. There were tears on the grooms face, as well as his families. It was nothing but daggers from the bride and her family, of course.

Oddly enough, I never got a thank you card for my gift, nor an invite to dinner from the couple (considering they met through me in the first place!).

The marriage ended 8 years later.

If I had friends that surprised me with a piper, I'd be tearing up too! How wonderful!!!

You flatter me as well thank you

Sorry you could not go kilted, when i was in high school I was not thinking of going kilted, I was seeing the student council president from another school and the formal places sent out a free tuxedo rental to all student council presidents, so as it was the mid 80's after all, I went in a gray tuxedo with tails, burgundy accessories and a diamond earring, I shake my head at it now but back then I thought I was it. I must find a picture of that, I know there is one around somewhere.
