    LOL.....You are right. I hadn't thought of that in years. After basic training I grew my mustache back. My battallion CSM always teased me about it. He would check it once a week. It couldn't extend past the corners of the mouth or touch the lip. He would always say "If you want the Ol' Sergeant Major to quit pestering you about this you could shave it off".

    One of the main reasons for requiring a soldier to be clean shaven has to do with the protective (gas) masks. Too much facial hair will prevent the protective mask from sealing to your face. Poison gases could seep in through the sides of the mask if it isn't sealed properly........makes sense to me.

    Particularly: AR 670-1? that's alot of territory, which part in particular? The rank is temporary,and is allowable simply because that it was the highest rank attained in ROTC. Rank is decided by the MOS and the rank needed for that position. I will not accept Chaplain, Besides there are already 3. My XO and CO are thinking that I will probably be assigned to the Engineers.
    My name tapes and the TN. ST. GUARD tapes are on order. I will have to remove the U. S. ARMY tape.
