Maybe he could trade with me. I've got a kilted mini that fastens on the right.

    Dirka Skene,
Thanks for the thought. Of course we weren't looking for a skirt when we found it. But for the price, it couldn't be passed up!

I think we'll take a look at adapting it and see what effort is required. However, a trade might work. I'm so new I'm still wet behind the ears.

What's the difference between a real kilt and a mini kilt? is it simply the overall length

My son is 22, and I'm certain his wife doesn't want him wearing a skirt, she's not really keen on the idea of him wearing a kilt, just yet.

    Cheers,

    Marshal Moroni

Oh, I thought you were talking about a little boy! It could be taken in a couple inches and fit a little boy but, I'm sure your 22 year old son won't want to wear a 12 inch mini-kilt!! LOL! If that's the case, you've probably got a ladies' skirt on your hands. It really should fasten at the right. Most ladies' skirts and little boys' kilts fasten at the left. I've just got an acception. I've definitely got a ladies' skirt (obviously because of the length).

    Tradition

In the 1800s toddlers of both sexes wore dresses. I really doubt that the child's kilt maker knows anything about kilts anyway. If I had to bet the direction was copied from women's clothing.

But if he wants it the right way by all means do convert it.
