Kilted or no... We'll accept the trousered as well. If you just want to come and hang out for a while, we have a good time.

Welcome aboard from Snellville Georgia!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Oddly, my motivation for seeking all of you out and going for a good fitted kilt came from a show I'm in where I play a Scotsman and wear a kilt. It's a sport kilt (the costumer had no clue about kilts since they typically outfit 1880s cowboy types) and I enjoy it for what it is, but years of attending Highland games told me it just didn't fit like it should.
Hey, maybe some of you could come to the show when I'm performing. I saw in the archives that Richard Jordan came to our show (kilted) last year and said he had a good time. It'd be great if a few of you could make it out in your kilts and blow the minds of the rest of the cast. We're doing the Murder Mystey dinner theater at the Gaylord Texan and everyone else wears authentic 1880s western wear (of course they think they're dressed perfectly normal, but me in a kilt...). Maybe we could set up a date for a gathering!
Anyway, its good to be in your company.
Mark
The next DFW gathering at the Tipp is July 11 (normally first Wednesday of the month, but in July that's the 4th). Post a link or let us know the details about your theatre at the Gaylord . . . maybe we can set something up.

p.s. as a measure to help with the jonesin' until September . . . you might consider one of the inexpensive kilts from Frugal Corner or Stillwater

I'll put the 11th on my calendar. I may be teaching a class that night, won't know until next week.

I butchered the X-Mark members name who came to the show last year, it should have been Richard Johnson. Here's his post: http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=15820
We just started this new show June 1st. This is the first time they've had a character that wasn't some sort of cowboy. I'm a Scottish Major who served the Confederacy in the war, so I have my kilt and an officers hat. It's a pretty funny show and the audience has been great. My fellow actors won't let up about the kilt, however. That's why I thought if a few guys showed up in their kilts it would be an interesting twist for the cast. It's the kind of thing a lot of people go to for an anniversary or a special date. Dinner (great buffet!), the show, gratuity, and parking for $55. If someone was looking for a special evening out anyway it would be a lot of fun. I know for sure I'll be there the first two weekends in July. Unfortunately, the kilt I ordered will pretty much be it for a while. One of my daughters is getting married in August.
Uh, what's Jonesin'?
Good to hear from everyone,
Mark (too)
