I 2nd the wing tip idea.

Wing tips can be altered to look like Ghillie Brogues.

Can be made by cutting out every other whole for the laces and removing the tongues.

What Hamish says about Ghillie Brouges is so right and I am so pleased to find a "fellow traveller" on this point. As many others have already said, a good pair of black shoes, well pollished, will be fine.

Another example of regular dress shoes with a formal kilt outfit.

By the by, congratulations and best wishes to you and your bride.

Jamie, I'm more intrigued by the whip and riding crop haning up on the wall behind you. Care to explain?

Well then, I shall be forced to draw my own conclusions!

On the topic at hand... I fully agree that any nice dress shoe looks very good with a kilt. I was married in my kilt and wore my IBM style wing tips which looked great. Now I wear a more square toed dress shoe with my kilt.
