Wow a square set. What dance were you doing? I love Scottish Country Dancing too. Like Hamish it is more of a challenge now than it was a few years (decades) ago. But, I see many folks much older than I who are still dancing.

Somehow I am not surprised that you were involved in getting those wonderful events started, well done my friend.

Thanks all for the kind komments, not sure what dance was going on in the square set, might have been The Penguin and the Piper, that's a favourite of my wife's.

I'm finding dancing a physical challenge too, but I need it. It keeps my head alive too and I believe SCD helps ward off oldtimer's disease.

SCD is definitely all of those things AND it is a really excellent opportunity to really enjoy wearing your kilt!

    Glad you are enjoying it.

Great piccies Graham. Some day maybe you can come to the Grandfather Mt. Games. They do a dancing school there for the whole week. I've seen some folks with mighty sore feet afterward though!

Sounds like fun, if I can fly into the US without suffering LA airport again..I might consider it.
We have summer and winter school here, the winter school coming up is in Canberra in September, just not sure if I can take a whole week of dancing unless I take my own physiotherapist!

Thank you for posting the great pics! I love the Saltire streamers!
I am so envious you had such a great turn-out! It has been such an uphill struggle to try and get continual interest and dedicated dancers here in Dallas.

Keep up the good work and spread the joy of SCD!

Thanks Rowdy, we do have more trouble attracting MEN to SCD, but interestingly we do attract young people!
Many Scottish Associations are struggling, with older members passing on and few young folk being really attracted to celtic events...SCD is somewhat different.
I now dance 2-3 times a week, the more the merrier.
