    And as others have said, you can probably buy for less than you can make. When I started pricing out leather and associated parts, it would have cost me almost twice as much to build my own. And that is before I picked up a buckle. That alone was the cost of my belt.

    from Utah. I made my sporran from a pattern found in the back of "So You Are Going to Wear the Kilt" I also made a sporran strap, and a belt, but I made the more formal belt, which was easy. Go To Tandy Leather, because they can help.

    My first kilt arrived before I had a sporran, and I simply used a fanny-pack that I had on hand.

    If you get set up for leather work, you may enjoy it; and there is much to be said for having made it yourself!
