The original is a classic mainly because Darrin McGavin created such a great character in Carl Kolchak. Due to copyright ownership issues the remake was devoid of many of the key aspects of the original show which led to it's early cancellation...
OH MY You meant a Nightstalker sporran didn't you?

I would think that with the nylon material that glue would not be the best approach. Three simple stiches would do the trick to hold the tassles in place though (and would be much easier to remove later if you changed your mind.

I like marching to the beat of my own drum, if you wear it for a while you get used to it.

I bought one of Jerry's nylon sporrans just a couple of weeks ago, and I can not be more happy with it. The tassels make absolutely no noise when walking!!! The overall size is perfect, and the different zippered pockets are great!! The flab has a zippered pocket on it that is perfect for loose change, under the flap (still outside) is a velcro'ed slot pocket that is perfect for folded bills. Inside (accessable by two zippers) there is plenty of room for a flask, paperback, cell phone, and more goodies.
I love mine!!! I have not worn another day sporran since I got it.
I am one VERY satified customer ith the nylon sporran.
I would suggest that you order one soon, and wear it for a couple of times before you cut off the tassels. The do NOT get in the way, or make noise!

Maybe if you just want a pouch, without the tassels, you could try this.

It was in a previous thread, and might fit your needs.
But really, I ( as a daily user) think you should pay the small price for the nylon sporran, and try it out for a few days before making any modifications.
Truly, it is a fine product. Makes me wish that I had stock in Stillwater!

I agree that the Nightstalker's tassels are not noisy. Try it out and see what you think. Different sporrans make different sounds. Sometimes a stiff piece of leather "bounces" rigidly, and a more supple piece may not slap in the same way.
If you want to cut them off, it should be easy: just work carefully.

The 'Sporran Fairie' appeared during the night and suggested glue for my leather day sporran, You guys seem to concur, So I shall try the glue solution to the clackety clack irritation. Love this forum, always good ideas!

I find that the more stuff I cram into my sporran, the less noise the tassels make.
