All of my more casual socks come from them. I have a dark brown pair that I've had since early this year. No holes. To keep the socks from shrinking, wash in cold water, and dry on the lowest heat setting, or hang to dry. With my UK, I sometimes do wear striped socks. Usually wear the superstripes kneesocks with the UK... Probably not what more traditional folk would wear, but they're comfy, and go well with a black UK.

With respect to Utilikilts offering the socks, when I worked there, I handed out a few business cards to my ex-coworkers. So, it's possible that I might've been the one to blame for that... *chuckle*

The site looks to be mostly womens hosery, but they do stock mens items and these hose are good.

Being both tall and with large calves, I find that their thigh high socks work great as casual kilt hose. The extra material in the thigh high allows the sock to get over the calves and still have PLENTY of lentgh left over for a good turnover (actually a multiple layer turnover).

Just don't tell anyone they are women's hose and no one will know. Well, you might want to avoid some of the colors.

I have been tempted by some of Sock Dreams' designs but the ones I like all seem to be made of cotton, which I won't wear for socks. Just a heads up to note the fabric content.

I dunno, Dave: I think the violet might match a lavender dress shirt I wear with my Warrior tartan USAK.

I'm with Moosedog, for the most part. I'm a wool bigot, but I'll wear cotton if I know I don't have to wear them all day.

I bought a few pairs of the Diamond Rib Knee Highs to get some variety in colors. The "bordeaux" is quite pretty, it has a dark thread (maybe black) in the knit. I'd like to know which socks the rest of you like.

I would prefer wool and/or acrylic. As mentioned elsewhere, I wear wool year-round in a very hot and humid locale. Wool breathes; wool wicks; wool does not compress. Long live wool! but here are the pretty cotton ones:
