RR, in my opinion there is no better way to go. It's downtown to downtown, and is faster than flying when you factor in airport time. The scenery from Seattle up the Puget Sound is incredible, and coming into Victoria by sea is very scenic.
You may want to add another night or two in Victoria, because I think if you do the Butchart Gardens overnighter tour that they mention, it will take up most of your time here. The tour is nice, though.

I live near Seattle. Keep us updated here at XMTS and mebbe we all kin git a rondevu together. (that's 'rendezvous' for those particularly interested)
