My waist size must have been unusual or really popular, because I had to wait for Utilikilt to get my size in (right after they moved to the new location). I called a couple of times and my size was not available. After calling a few weeks in a row, I asked them to let me know when my size was in. When they called me back a couple weeks later, I had the kilt within a week via USPS.
Utilikilt used to make your size if it wasn't in stock, but now they sell from a large inventory that gets replenished on some periodic basis.

my previous dealings with Utilikilt had always been great.. my kilt would normally ship the same day as ordered... until last time.
<rant>
I ordered via the web... website showed the kilt in stock and available to order. so I did... just like the 2 times I had before... I got an email instantly with my order details... just like normal... that's where it stopped being normal. 3 days later nothing had shipped.. no emails..nada.. I sent an email to them asking if there was a hold up. I got a reply back telling me it was shipping that day. I thought great.. it'll be here in time for the weekend... until I got another email late that night, tell me opps.. the computer lied. no kilt in stock after all. and there should be some in stock next week. or I could upgrade to a style in stock (according to the website there were NONE in any style in my size in stock).. or I could get a refund. I figured a few extra days.. no big deal.
Flash forward to just under 2 weeks. I had heard nothing from anyone at Utilikilts... So I send and email asking if there was an update on when my kilt would ship. I get told no update and they hadn't seen ANYTHING come from production in over 2 weeks. Hopefully they'd have it soon. At that point I asked for a refund. 3 days later... still no refund.. I sent yet another email asking for an update on my refund... that was yesterday. Still no email saying my money was refunded.. my bank does not show a refund being applied.. in fact the only change is that my order on their website in no longer there.
I think I've been patient with them...I've been nice throughout this entire thing.. but the customer service has been a real let down this time.. the complete lack of communication and the lack of concern over MY money really makes me not want to deal with them again. it's a shame too, because I really like my current UK's

Hmmmm.... I have not yet ordered, but after snooping around here on X Marks... I think I may just stick with the folks that advertise here. Gonna get a Freedom Kilt for sure though... Steve will be getting an online order, or maybe a phone call come my next pay day!

For what it is, an off the peg kilt, my U.K. is all right. It got me started and for those who fit their size scheme (3-4 inch taper for big boys) they are okay.
I am new at this, but the fit and comfort of my F.K. are amazing. There are many others that I want, but another Fk is deffo pending.

I just orderd my first utilikilt last wednsday... it arrived on my doorstep this wednsday, cant complain at that for having shipped from seatle WA to rhrode island.
The only UK comment I have is that they seem a little bit longer then they should by the way they're tailored. My traditional tailored wool kilt is 23" long and fits just right, my amerikilts are 24" long and comes down to jsut the right spot. The utilikilt which just came, at 24" long seems about an inch to an inch and a half too long, i can make it fit fine if i hike up the top just above my belly button, which can look akward with a tshirt like i usualy wear with a casual kilt. Ah well, live and learn.
