Isn't there a kilt don't for kilt, long underwear and sandals?
Thank you for not posting that picture?

Those pictures are great. It makes me homesick. I used to hike and camp up in the sierras almost every summer growing up. Where in the sierras were you and how high up did you go? Germany has trees and mountains, but little of the stark, bare rock, great view beauty of the high sierras.

I gotta say two things....
1. There's NOTHING as lovely as a smiling lass with a full pack and dirty boots.
2. I don't know about camp stools, but I never camp without my "Thermarester", which converts my Thermarest pad into a nifty, comfy, insulated seat. It weighs nearly nothing and packs down to nearly nothing.
OK, maybe three things...
3. Great pictures. I've done a fair amount of camping in Montana and there's really something special about sleeping in grizzly country. It really makes the coffee taste that much better in the morning.

For those of us who are not keen on dirt and bugs thank you for taking us along. Though I have to say, kilt or no kilt I'd rather look at the Luminous Joan...

Great pics. I'm with Panache on this one. You'll find us at the base camp drinking Gin and Tonics (to keep the malaria away) listening to the Victrola, while the porters prepare dinner.
Best regards,
Jake

After all Jake, it is the only civilized way to experience the great outdoors.
