I carry a Gerber multi-tool on my hip (its too big for my sock). I would love to have one or two more modern looking knives to wear with my Utilikilts and 1 or 2 more traditional looking ones (maybe a Rab Gordon and/or a Raptor).
can't even butter bread with it.

Nice stuff! Pity he doesn't make it further West. I thought these kilt pins of his were particularly nifty, though I'd be a little nervous that it might fall out of the sheath and get lost.

That's one of the nicest I've seen in ages too. I'd love one, but absolutely refuse to copy it It has kicked off some ideas though!

Mate, I'm extremely honoured by that, but I'm not sure I'm worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as Rab!

That looks more like a sgian achlais to me than a sgian dubh. I've wanted one of those for a long time. Armour Class is a really great company with which to do business. I purchased a semi-custom clamshell hilted claymore from them about five years ago ( http://www.armourclass.co.uk/Data/Pages/Scottish_4.htm ) and am very hapy with it. I'd love to have them to make me a basket hilted claymore at some point.

I've acquired a small tanto blade (about 7" overall) that I am putting antler scales on. Unfortunately my surgery has put the project on hold but should have it complete by end September. Will post in DIY section then.

Figure it's appropriate for anyone with a Kilted Samurai rank on XMTS.

Those kilt pins are a great idea, looks like i know what my next bladesmithing project is. I've got plenty of small pieces of antler to use already.

How do I remove this rust?
My favorite is a combination of OOO steel wool, light weapons oil, and elbow grease. It'll remove light rust without scratching the surface.

I'll second the reccomendation for #000 steel wool. You should be able to get it at just about any hardware store. WD-40 also works well for loosening the rust and protecting against more. Always rub from spine to tip and back and not across the blade however, or you can get scratches that you can see in the wrong light.

I gave friend and fellow kiltie one of these for his birthday, but I don't think he wears it in his sock. But here wears Utilikilts though so he keeps it in a cargo pocket But I'll suggest it to him.
