Just one of the many acrylics I had lying around the shed. I really have this thing about opals but apart from the expense, they're just not practical for sgians, given their aversion to water. So. I collect multi-coloured acrylic instead

That is one of the coolest and most unique sgians I have ever seen. You are truly an artist Raptor. Just curious, where do you get multicolored acrylics? Did you have it in liquid or solid form before it ended up on the top?

I get them from one of my timber suppliers. They should be available from anywhere that supplies woodturners. They come in solid form in both square & round sticks, & in cakes. While I have & do use polished gemstones on occasion, I prefer the acrylic as you can shape it to the size needed, rather than making the project fit the stone. I particularly like it for sgians, as you can generally find a colour combo to compliment any given tartan.

That is super fine. I think it will be well received and appreciated as the work of art it truly is.
