Nice Ric. Will this do?

Nice! Is that yours or your bandmates Epi Dot Archtop in the background? I've got one just like it.

Actually, I was merely present at a filming of my father's band whilst wearing my kilt.
I've always loved the Rick 4001 and got my pic taken while holding it. (notice no strap/ not plugged in)
The Rick is a 1978 in near mint condition, the Epiphone Archtop I believe is an early 60's model if I remember correctly.
Also present, but not pictured was an early 60's Hofner "violin" bass of Beatles fame, which is quite cool, but for me doesn't hold the allure of the Rickenbacker......

You and threebanger have very cool basses. Throw in one of the old Silvertones, and you've covered the height of cool. (The first real band I played with had a bassman--a girl, actually--with a Silvertone bass that had a really stinging sound you can't get from a Jazzmaster. Listen to ?Gimme Shelter" by Grandfunk to hear that stingin' bass. )
Like I said before, if you play a guitar and wear a kilt . . .well, you will not want for female companionship. As for me, I'll take that Gretsch 1620, a Gibson 335, or a Les Paul anyday for electrics. (Actually, I'm too old to be that cool anymore, so I usually show up with an Alvarez Yairi and do more laid back stuff.)
Man, just put on a kilt and wail. You'll do fine.

Oooohh. That looks like it has some character!
Mine's just a bone stock Warwick Corvette Standard, which is really a nice bass. Most of the time I feel like the gorilla in the old Samsonite commercials with the way I "play".

Warning-pic is a clicky link to a really big image. 56K dialup's be warned!
Guild Humbucking pickups, Badass Bridge. Shaller tuners, Phase reversal switch and a funky stain/lacquer finish.
OK, I know it was sacrilege, you can blame it on my brother!
It plays like you wouldn't believe. Gotta love those oldies!
Ray
BTW, doing that link/url/image thing is a bear!
Gorgeous!
I have an ancient 'Framus' bass the same shape. Unfortunately it needs a complete restoration. Would love to get it fixed up.

Don't feel bad...I have one of those Gibsons that's nominally a Les Paul but looks like an SG and I, like a schmuck, stripped the Pelham Blue paint off in favor of a natural finish.
Hey! It was the Seventies! Everybody wanted natural finishes like Loggins and Messina and Seals and Croft and Crosby and Nash and Stills and Young!
