Well, thank you everyone for your advice. Hopefully, I will save some green so I can spend it on more important things, like more tartan. Oh, and less important things like car insurance, and rent, and food. Small details like that.
Thanks again on the advice on the hose. But I've done a few days searching for the buckle, I don't think it exists yet. Guess I'll have to figure out how to make one.

If you really need to watch your budget try soccer socks to start with:
Sockup.com
It is what I got for my son to use with his kilt. They are also a bit cooler so I have used them for the "scrunched" look with boots. Many of the athletes were these rather than wool hose.They come in tons of solid colours.
