Very handsome tartan David - I'll bet Matt will turn it into a great looking kilt!

I am getting the MacDonald of Sleat from Matt, in a 4 yard box pleat, it should be interesting as this will be my fist box pleated kilt, I have dealt with Matt on other items and he is always a gentleman, I can not to have my Newsome. Until I get it I am trying to push it out of my mind.

That's a SMASHING tartan. I was eyeing it myself, but the time/money wasn't right. So, I had to leave it for someone else. Glad you got it David. Good to see it kept in the Rabble. And McMurdo, yes, that's the best thing to do, just push it out of your mind. You'll be glad you waited when it comes. Such art.

Actually ever since seeing your NYC commemorative tartan Newsome box pleat I've been thinking. Now with money at par and a tartan I could identify with, for me it was fate.

Another order
With Matt’s special offer I nabbed the St. Patrick tartan. It was an impulse buy. I had ordered with Matt a box pleat in the Columba tartan earlier in the summer. The Columba tartan was created by Peter MacDonald in 1997 to commemorate the 1400th anniversary of St. Columba’s death.
I couldn’t resist the opportunity to have the tartans of the Celtic Saint of Ireland, Patrick and the Celtic Saint of Scotland, Columba.
Just before seeing Matt’s web offer, I received an email from the genealogist of the Clan MacCallum Malcolm Society that my DNA sample showed an ancestral match more to an Irish origin than the Scots! A confirmation in making the order.

Another first
I nabbed Matt's American Bicentennial tartan. I'm having a fly plaid hemmed from the cloth remaining. This will be my first box pleat and the first from Matt. Won't say that I can't wait, but I do look forward to it.
Now I'm wondering what would be a good color hose to match that. Of course, if I wear it mostly in the summer, maybe that's a moot point.
