I know that Ron (Riverkilt) has a premimum kilt from the Celtic Croft and was very happy with it. For my first tartan kilt I chose one of Celtic Croft's economy line (a Black Watch) and have since found it didn't compare in quality to even the Stillwater Standard. The material was very very light and the straps very slim leather. It is the only kilt I no longer wear. I think the Celtic Croft offers a lot of great items, such as their extensive sporran range that includes day and formal wear options for almost any budget. I buy from them on a regular basis and the Crofts seem like nice folks, but I would not recommend their economy line of kilts in homespun.
Cheers

Having seen a couple of these, I agree with Panache. At the very least, you'll be ironing the thing all the time, if you do buy it.
However, what I *would* do, is purchase their homespun for use as a really nice great kilt or feileidh-bheig if you wanted to wear one.

I would never try to steer anyone away from buying in your own country, but if you need currency conversion information, there is a great website at http://www.xe.com/ucc/ hope it helps in some small way.

Hey Livingston
The Front Range is about three plus hours from us BUT when we are out that way I'll send a note and take you up on the offer. I just need to get kilted yet. We moved here from the Chicago area and are Cub's fans but I'll say Go Rockies.

Thanx for the input on the Crofts line. There are times when buying on the WWW are great and times like this when you want to touch and feel an item before you pay the bucks for something.

Thanx for the info. If it weren't for the folks at this forum, I'd be flying blind.

Thanx for the honesty. Yes, I'm looking more for the traditional style kilt. But thanx for the info. I'll follow up on your info.

Hey Todd
If he was /is a Rev. then we came from the other side of the tree. My heritage comes way of the Easter Rising and brawlers from the Sout (no "H" if you please) side of Chicago.
