Great pics. Sorry I missed you. I was in and around the area of the Whiskey making tent for about 20 minutes around noon. I'll look for Paul around the same area and time today. Forgot my camera , but I'll have it today. Other than checking out the Whiskey tasting area, I'll probably stay around the Guinness stage area because my wife can't do a lot of walking right now. She fell in the rain earlier this week and hurt her back.

Thanks for the pics House of Gordon cousin,
I used to live in Richmond back in '69 and '70. If they had any Highland games back then I missed them.
Looks like a great gathering.

Super pics; looks like a good time had by all. Some of the Scottish highland games would do well to hold their events around this time of year. After a season of incessant rains through May, June, July right up till the third week in August, the last couple of months have been mainly fine sunny weather which would have been ideal for outdoor activities such as Highland Games but for the fact the Scottish Highland Games season finished as early as 9th September.

Mael,
Where did you get the patch from? I tried looking under the search category, but didn't use enough words or something...Anyway, great pics...It's always good to see everyone in their element...Kilts are great and one kilt is better than none, two kilts are better than one and on and on.

Actually, the rain last week was the first measurable amount we've had in months. The reservoirs are still dangerously low, and water restrictions are still in effect, so the rain was welcome. The old fairgrounds, where the Richmond festival was held, had some muddy spots, but were still mostly dry. Sunday was a bit cold, but the festival was still enjoyable. The highlight of the day(Sunday) for me was seeing and hearing Needfire play. To me, they had a sound somewhat similar to 7Nations, only better. And, to Ron, the Richmond games are a relatively new thing. They weren't going on when you lived in Richmond.
