Just make sure the chair doesn't roll out from under you. That could be bad.

I have to admit this happened to me at a family dinner, at least all that wool broke my fall, and yes I do use this technique, it is easier to do than it sounds.

Hi Turpin, many thanks for he compliment! 'Your' method (or the method you describe) is the recognised way to do it if both hands are otherwise occupied. Using the hands in the sweep does, however, ensure a little more control.

Having said that, we all find the way that's best for us.

I've been doing that for a couple of years, but I picked up the best name for it from Nathan at Utilikilts. "Sitting with Soul" cuz you have to get a rhythm.
