If Austin's motto is in Latin, then it's the Romans who definitely help the city live up to it.
The motto is Keep Austin Weird. Not all of us are that fond of it.
The whole "Keep Austin Weird" has become commercialized. Many locals are trying to hold on to the old ways. I think that is great but the times, they are a changing. They skyline will be over 50% new condos from 300k and up just to get on the list. It is an expensive town for Texas.

See, that's why I don't care for the label weird. It gives it a negative connotation. I like to think of Austin as interesting. Interesting doesn't have a negative connotation.
Give me Austin over Dallas any day.

I saw the pix of Need Fire. They had just played for us the day before in Jackson, TN. They even did 2 sets. I guess they took turns driving & slept when they could.
