Three to six days a week, depending on how I feel. I do wear pants...I have on a pair of black jeans right now.
2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
I wear by kilts to work two to 4 days a week. I work in IT support in a major University in a research setting.
3) How does your significant other feel about it?
At first, she hated them. We had a hard talk or two in which I told her that she did not have the right to dictate what I would wear and if she didn't like them she would kindly keep her mouth shut and stop the little "looks" and "comments". Since then she's come around. She's not wild about them, but she's accepting and sometimes I even get a compliment or two. She's very thoroughly ripped into the only two real jerks I've ever run into who had snotty things to say to my face about my kilts.
4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
Usually politely, with a sense of humour. I wear them because of my Scottish grandparents, and because they're way better than shorts. Good friends who honestly ask will hear about how it's fun to get a bit more attention than if I was just walking around in blue jeans all the time.
(I have a very good, very old friend (a girl) who just could not believe that I wear a kilt in public. She gave me a really hard time about it over dinner with other friends. I was really surprised at her reaction. None of my guy friends have reacted that way.)
simple answer to that.....that's HER problem, not yours.
5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
Yes, but I doubt they'll ever be mainstream.
6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?
tough question...yes and no. "More" popular, yes. The Fad of the Year? No. Outside of the Highland Games or Ren Faires or Nor Cal Beer and Kilts Night I might see a kilt, and it's always a Utilikilt...about once every three months. I never see another man wearing a tartan kilt "just around" except for when us Kilties at Stanford get together for coffee. If that were more like....Utilikilt or contemporary kilt, once a week and tartan kilt once a months, that'd be grreat.
(It seems I am seeing more and more people here in Austin wearing them out, but mostly they are Utilikilts.)
Thanks for your time.

5.- Yes but mostly in english speaking countries and in europe here in Mexico not much.
6. Yes and no, i would like them to be more popular to stop the gender thing, and no because maybe they will just a fad.

1) How often do you wear the kilt?
WHen I'm not in an Army uniform, except my Army piping uniform....they bought the kilt as weell as my old 6th Army Band kilt.
2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
See above, I'm piping for our local Marine Birthday Ball as well as a vets thing at a local school tomorrow, Army kilted uniform...
3) How does your significant other feel about it?
SOmetimes I have to wear jeans/slacks at her request but not often.
4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
Depends on the question, and the person asking, now and then they get insulting. I respond at the level of the question.
5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
Yes
6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?

1) How often do you wear the kilt? Kilt nights occasionally on weekends around the house.
2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress? Don't and couldn't wear it at work.
3) How does your significant other feel about it? Rolls her eyes, generally is good humoured about, Kids are scared what others will say, although my 7yo daughter is warming up to it.
4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt? No problems except from moving cars. Somehow a comment from 30mph doesn't hold any weight with me.
(I have a very good, very old friend (a girl) who just could not believe that I wear a kilt in public. She gave me a really hard time about it over dinner with other friends. I was really surprised at her reaction. None of my guy friends have reacted that way.) Some 'friend'.
5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular? possibly, slowly.
6) Do you really want them to be more popluar? Not too popular, I perfer to be unique.
(It seems I am seeing more and more people here in Austin wearing them out, but mostly they are Utilikilts.) Not a big fan of utilikilts but I do like my RKilt and Freedom kilt.
Thanks for your time. Thank you for your curiosity.

1) How often do you wear the kilt?
Was full time for a couple years, then negotiated some trying times at work, worked it out, now wear a kilt to work about twice a week and pants twice a week. (work 4 ten-hour days). Mix it up to keep them guessing.
2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
Licensed Professional Counselor at an outpatient treatment agency. I work mostly with court ordered alcoholics and drug addicts (DUI clients, underage alcohol, some mental illness clients. About half are Navajo).
3) How does your significant other feel about it?
She's only seen me in pants a few times. When we first started dating she loved them...still does about three years later.
4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
There's a common two-word response to insults.
(I have a very good, very old friend (a girl) who just could not believe that I wear a kilt in public. She gave me a really hard time about it over dinner with other friends. I was really surprised at her reaction. None of my guy friends have reacted that way.)
There are billions of women on this planet. Join an on line dating site and search for "kilt" you'll be very happy with the results. Or just wear kilts. The women that are attracted to you will start your new relationship accepting your kilts.
5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
There's a fashion boom in progress...Snoop Dogg is kilted...hello...
6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?
Yes. Pure common sense if nothing else. Women won the right to wear pants in the workplace. Now its our turn to win the right to wear kilts in the workplace.

Daily, since I work for myself. Also being single that makes some things easier for me.
The insults I just consider the source.
The Kilt will always be popular, and yet most will not embrace wearing it because of a lack of confidence or fear that they will look silly, someone is the loser.

1) How often do you wear the kilt?
Once a year so far...I only have one to date...I would love to work in a place or have a job that allowed me the option of wearing one...I will certainly wear more as my collection grows because I have found my niche in life.
3) How does your significant other feel about it?
She likes my level of confidence and the way I look too
4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
With confidence!
5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
Doesn't matter to me about their popularity...I personally like being a part of something unique and against the grain
6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?
Nope

1) How often do you wear the kilt?
Kilt Fridays baby! Every Friday, unless I really really wanna ride my motorcycle to school. Unfortunately I cant make being kilted and motorcycling work together so I have to choose one or the other. Otherwise I would wear daily at school as washing allows. Oh and I always wear my MacLeod to dress events.
2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
My boss would wet himself if I showed up at the Hotel wearing a kilt. . . after the ribbing was over I could probably get by with a UK at the auto body shop (my pt job).
3) How does your significant other feel about it?
Hmm, significant other is a rather strong phrase for my girlfriend but I guess she is significant to so it works. She walks around holding my hand as confidently when I am in my kilt as she does when I am in trousers. Shes a keeper!
4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
Usually I look at the source and move on with my day. I really dont get many people ribbing me for it. I react politely to honest inquiry. Usually I get nothing but compliments and those willing to take pot shots are usually in groups as they are afraid to get their @$$ kicked by a "guy in a skirt"![Laughing](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
(I have a very good, very old friend (a girl) who just could not believe that I wear a kilt in public. She gave me a really hard time about it over dinner with other friends. I was really surprised at her reaction. None of my guy friends have reacted that way.)
Not your problem, a good friend will look past it if it really bothers them.
5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
Possibly. I saw another guy on campus in one out the corner of my eye. I thought about running after and making sure is kit was all correct but I reached up, tightened my bandanna and decided I had no right to act as kilt police.
6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?
Umm, not if it is just done to be "fashionable." I feel a gigantic sense of pride when sporting my family tartan. I wish more Scots would give themselves the opportunity to feel the same. By the same token if someone non-Scottish wants to wear one, thats fine as long as they respect it for what it is and wear it in a respectful manner.
(It seems I am seeing more and more people here in Austin wearing them out, but mostly they are Utilikilts.)
I am looking into getting a UK of my own. . . .but that will have to wait until can get enough cash together for a Matt Newsome. . . .
Thanks for your time.
Thanks for a great topic, sorry about being so long winded!

1) Daily, for the last three years, except for 4 months while backpacking recently. (But I have backpacked over 5,000 miles in a kilt.)
2) I work in a restaurant in a kilt, and I've worked in a professional office in a kilt.
3) My last serious girlfriend honestly didn't like it that much, but understood that it's what I wear, so she was fine with it. Any girl who meets me meets me in a kilt. That's just how it's going to be. If they want to go out with me, they're going to be with me in the kilt.
4) I tell them it's comfortable, and that the chicks dig it. The guys wonder what I'm talking about, and the girls nod.
5) Who knows? I see them once in a while around town, but I don't think "popular" is the right word.
6) I'd love to get fewer people gawking over it, but then again it's kind of nice when the girls gawk. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

1) How often do you wear the kilt?
A couple of times a week. This week; Friday, Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday.
2) (If you wear it daily) What profession allows this sort of dress?
Piper.
3) How does your significant other feel about it?
Depends upon the kilt; she doesn't care for my Irish National.
4) How do you respond to people who question your motives for wearing the kilt?
I'm a piper; I offer them a business card.
5) Do you think kilts are becoming more popular?
No.
6) Do you really want them to be more popluar?
Don't really care what other people do.
