I lost my first cat, Dweezil, about ten or twelve years ago and I still miss him...that guy was with us for eighteen years and before we had children he was like my surrogate son. I somehow think that he's back here reincarnated in Chili Palmer, our little red haired cat, though...
Take some time and maybe eventually another great cat will come along and you'll choose each other as companions.
First they drive ya crazy and then they break your heart...my condolences.
Best

AW man - That sucks! The only consolation that I can think of is 12 years is a good long life for a cat. It doesn't make it hurt any less, just something to think on.
Sorry for your loss!

The main thing is that it happened so fast. Like I said, he had been fine, then yesterday he had trouble moving, and he was gone last night. That's what makes me think he might have gotten into something.
At least he wasn't suffering for a long time.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Dave. As you know, we lost our old man Roadblock at the first of the year. I know it isn't easy, losing a family member never is. But hopefully it will ease your pain a bit to know that Trouble has a namesake in Aurora, Colorado, who is alive, well, and living up to her name. Here's a pic:

That was taken about two years ago, and she's still the same size (tiny).
Blessed Be! And May you forget your pain and remember the love.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. Try to take solace in the fact that he awaits your arrival at the Rainbow Bridge.

Dave, my thoughts are with you. I had my Kleine Kat for 22 years and am still getting over her leaving. Our little companions bring so much into our lives foremost being the unconditional love they give us. And i truly believe they are waiting for us in the great beyond at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge to continue that love.
