Yeah, there are tons of names for them. Usually you'll find them in the Men's Outdoor section of the website.

Safari shirt, guide shirt, hiking shirt are probably the most common. So far I haven't seen anyplace that put them in their own category online though, they have just been mixed in with other men's outdoor shirts.

Here's one of my favorite summer shirts that I got from Campmor. Although it's more of a weight for cooler weather I enjoy this one from Cabela's. I especially enjoy the empaulets. In fact I enjoy it so much I put my XMarks patch on it.

I also have a slew of the Wal Mart ones mentioned. Can't beat the price.

I have a couple shirts of this sort. They look good with the kilt. However, I have to wear a T-shirt undermine lest I cause it (the shirt) to stink something awful. Synthetic fabrics and I don't really mix.

    I love 'em!

Have a bunch from Columbia - intended for fly fishing etc. They're light weight and well vented, yet if its too hot I can roll the sleeves down and turn the collar up to protect my Celtic skin.

During summer in the Canyonlands all I need is a lightweight safari/fishing shirt, a casual kilt, and sandals to stay cool.

Ya just gotta be REAL careful around lonely cowboys....

Well, obviously the first photo was an error...tried to correct it with the edit function but for some reason the edit function just refuses to work with photos involved...at least for me. Waiting on a reply from the techies.

Meantime, here's the pic I meant to post.

I'm having a hard time editing a photo as well Ron, it just won't save.

Thanks for the additional pics, and the other leads on where to find them. It's a bit out of season right now but I am always looking for a deal on last years models.

I'm lucky that Glen Canyon is such a trout fishing mecca. Many of the fishing supply stores in Marble Canyon and Cliff Dwellers carry the shirts and mark them down off season.

Columbia makes some hot colors too that go well with solid kilts. Like hot lime green with saffron or chocolate brown UK workman's.

If you're an e-bayer, try doing a search for "Willis & Geiger".

They're an old safari outfitting company that was started by some friends of Teddy Roosevelt; they made a lot of items for his African trips.

Anyway, they had some great light-weight safari-type shirts, and you can sometimes find them on e-bay. I've sold a few of my W&G items on e-bay (for top profits, too) but I'll never part with my safari shirt as it looks great with the kilt.

You may also want to look at Sportsman's Guide. Their supply occasionally rotates, but they have a good selection. Something like this may look good with the kilts...I'm thinking of getting one for my basil Survival UK.
