    My parents have that book, I remember as a boy looking through it time and time again, some very good memories of that wee volume, and truly my first introduction to tartan as well.

    For those seekers, www.powells.com has two copies. One from 1938 and one from 1976 in "standard" condition.

    Just type "clans and tartans of scotland bain" (without the quotes) into their search engine. They'll come right up. About $5 each.

    My grandparents in Oklahoma had it, as well as a clansman print and a map of "anscestral lands" on the study wall. I was as crushed as Barb to find that women were never to wear the kilt. It took me another 40 years to decide it was okay.
