You can really drive yourself crazy, so get both and enjoy the Nightstalker until the USAK comes, then use the Knightstalker as a more casual kilt. Have fun.

Hands down the semi-traditional from Rocky. I've had acrylic kilts and was grossly dissapointed in the end. Also, I have had that particular kilt, and the "cloth" was fuzzy and blanket-esque. I have 3 casuals from Rocky and I can say that PV fabric is the next best thing to worsted wool. I've also had the pleasure of seeing a semi-traditional model in person and can say it was spectacular.

    I really like both tartans.
I think I prefer the Nightstalker, but would like the fit and quality of a USAK.

I guess I'll just have to see if i can arrange to get both.
Go for the USA kilt. Not only is it made to measure, but in my experience the PV takes more of a beating and still holds it's shape and sharpness better than the arylic.

Plus I found the pv to be more comfortable than arcylic. It felt softer.

I purchased the black shadow tartan wool and I really was disappointed with the quality of the wool. It was light, coarse and the selvage had little holes all along. The service I got from Stillwater was absolutely top notch and I had no problems when I returned it.

    Arlen,

Have you seen the USAKilts granite tartan? Looks very similar to a Nightstalker in terms of color, but has the fit of a made to measure kilt.....

    Red face

Ok, this is great, I didn't know that there was a tartan like the Nightstalker over at USAK. If this is the case, get the one at USAK, and I take back anything I've said on this thread. Sorry.

For my first tartan kilt I was going to get a Nightstalker but I didn't really want to buy acrylic. Rocky mentioned that the granite was coming out soon so I waited for that. The granite is definitely lighter colored than the Nightstalker but I like it better and it goes with just about anything. Here's a pic of mine:

    Hmm.
See, from all the pictures I've seen I prefer the Nightstalker to the Granite.
    Hmm.

I think what I'll do is just point my wife to the Nightstalker and the American heritage and mention that I'd like any one of them that she might be willing to buy me.

That way I can focus my attention on the Military box-pleated Black Watch that I am bidding for.

I've been very pleased with my USAK semi-trad which arrived quicker than expected and was very well constructed.
