Amen. Each of us has to find our own style and level of kiltedness, Toad. And, of course, personal finances play a big part in that. Just keep in touch.

I don't think we can all have unbifurcated clothing, we can try, but not all of us can wear kilts all the time. They cost quite a bit, and they don't clean like ordinary clothes, you can't jsut throw 'em in there. I wear pants alot, but I do wear my kilt when I lounge, have band practice and what not, but it's just cloth not a religion as it was stated. You can't jsut give it all up.

The Chopper thing is over rated (ducks and runs for cover).

Actually, I got my 'dream bike' (Moto Guzzi California Stone) and started wearing kilts this year, but I'm not sure if 42 is "midlife".

Depends on how long you want to live, I guess.

There's a time and place for everything.

While I am kilted almost daily, I sometimes have to wear pants at night because the cold chill on my knees can upset my tremors pretty bad in the Winter.

That, and I'm BROKE as all get out atm, so I can't afford a new kilt.

    Don't ever forget the freedom. ; )

It's not for everyone, but it is for some of us lucky few. There are just so many of us here that sometimes we get a slanted view point.

For instance - I have family, still living in Scotland, that wouldn't think of wearing a kilt, don't own a kilt, and when shown flix of me, they think I'm the weird colonial..

    Too bad, about the "Fad"

    Keep in touch.

    Toadinakilt,

Don't worry about the ability to increase your kilt wardrobe. Mine is only growing slowly, and I'm at the mid-life part you are starting to dream about.

Wear what you've got, and simply enjoy.

Do what works. The value of a man is not measured by the number if kilts in his closet. So carry on, toad, kilted when you feel like it, and not kilted when you don't.

The kilt is yours to wear or not wear, as you wish.
Toadinakilt and Blu, great to hear from you both!
