two week warning
Okay, this is a couple days late for a two-week warning, but it's as good a way as any to bump the thread.
I plan to be a Bluegrass Brewing Company early enough that folks arriving at 7:00 that evening can get a table. If I have an idea of who will be there, I can get a large enough table or group of tables.
Bluegrass Brewing Company (BBC) brews their own line of beers on-site. Their food is good, and not terribly expensive. If we get crowded out of there, the pub next door (Brendan's) has a selection of fine brews on tap (they may have one variety of swill on tap, too). If things get really bad in St. Matthews, we can roam over to the Irish Rover or to any of the several other good pubs and taverns in town.
I'm also working on a breakfast site for the following morning, if there is enough interest. This way, folks coming from out of town won't have to travel on empty stomachs. Early choice is Lynn's Paradise Cafe, a quirky little place if ever there was one. The staff would LOVE our kilts.
I've not gotten enough feedback to justify securing a block of rooms, but there may still be time.

Me and Dana are up for both events. She's been wanting to check out Lynn's. No room needed.

one-week warning
A one week warning seems as good an excuse as any to get this back to the front page of thread titles.
I'm looking forward to seeing several of you there!

Aaarrrggghhh
Here's the scoop:
The Louisville Kilt Night, scheduled for January 12 (That's THIS WEEKEND, folks!) has been moved. As noted, the original plan (such as it was) had a nice little local brewery/restaurant, with a pub known for a wide selection of nice stuff on tap next door. The restaurant is closed for remodeling (something they forgot to tell me a few weeks ago), so...
As it happens, the pub next door is owned by the same folks who own O'Shea's Irish Pub. O'Shea's is much larger, and has a fuller menu (including at least one tasty-looking vegetarian entree), plus a fair selection of brews, plus live music, plus it's fairly easy to get back to the hotels from there. The worst part about O'Shea's is that parking can be difficult to find, as it's in a corridor of popular night spots. If we get there early enough, that shouldn't be a problem.
Nearest really nice hotels are in downtown Louisville--there is a Marriott, a Hyatt, and probably more for those interested. Access from them is pretty easy.
Access from the eastern suburbs of Louisville, where I live, is pretty easy too. There are several groups of hotels closer to me, since there is a big business/industrial park about two miles from my apartment.
Drop me a line if you want personal directions, or you can mapquest O'Shea's. Baxter Avenue splits into Baxter Avenue and Bardstown Road about a block south of O'Shea's.
PLEASE DROP ME A LINE IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND, AS O'SHEA'S GETS BUSY ON WEEKENDS. I WILL BE SETTING A RESERVATION FOR OUR PARTY IN THE RESTAURANT FOR 7:00.

three-day alert
I called and made reservations last night. We are set for a party of twelve under the name "Kiltie."
If you plan to attend, please PM me if you've not already done so (I know that OFCJAX and Dana plan to attend--who else?). The count has now reached the number for which we have reservations, so I need to know whether to ask for more chairs.
I look forward to seeing you!

I'm still trying to figure out if I can make it (looks good though).
Any of the cincy area crowd going and coming back that night? I might be interested in sharing a ride.
