NE Kilt Night?

I'd be happy to join you once I join the kilted. My family have conspired this Christmas (and, for me, birthday) season to get me on my way. With Matt's queue being what it is, I'm thinking we should schedule for sometime in May. :-)

Why didn't I notice that someone in my town joined the rabble? If you really want (and by want, I mean NEED) a kilt to hold you over until the real one gets here in May I recommend SWK. Shoot me a PM if you want to go down to the Peddler's Daughter for a pint some time and I'll show you what a SWK looks like in person.

I'm all for a kilt night anywhere around here though I'm not a big fan of the Boston area just because I hate driving there but I could always take a train in. Portsmouth sounds good, especially if it allows the Maineiac to attend. The only caveat is that I work nights so I could only attend a Saturday or Sunday gathering.

Born and raised in Mass only emigrated to Maine - so I a not a true Mainiac. I guess a true "Mass..u know what" at heart!

My sons however aren't so lucky!

Will always remember my oldest (3 at time) looking forward to going into the "big city" (Portland) to see his litttle brother when he was born.

I was born in Marblehead (somehow that is very fitting) and moved to NH the first chance I got. My wife and my kids are all native and even though I spent a huge amount of time working on my aunt's farm and have lived here 26 years, I'm still "From Away". Funny thing though, we had an old hand tub in town that was hauled out every 4th of July and we had a Fireman's Muster. We kids would dash in as they pumped it and ride the brakes up and down. Invariably someone would get their chin in the way and get clocked. They had a pipe band that played for every major town event. The leader was my neighbor and as a little child I would go to bed and listen to pipes. I guess it put a serious warpage on my life. Needless to say I love kilts and pipes and everything else about this stuff.

Good Lord! I've hijacked my own thread. Lets see if we can decide on a location and get together maybe in the spring when travel is easier. I don't drink so I don't know any cool watering holes. I'm willing to bet that some others DO!
