Actually this is a medallion. I put sticky hook-n-loop stuff on the back
I hadn't even considered that approach. Thanks for the idea!

This sounds like a great thing to do with a challenge coin from my submarine.
I usually end up sans kilt pin because the commonly available "sword" pins usually end up lost or broken when they find their way into the laundry. This would certainly ensure a more robust pin, and one I wouldn't lose so easily.
Which reminds me... I want to figure a way to work my Silver Dolphins into a kilt pin. Hmmmm....
