    Great End of Week

What a great way to end the week!

The 12 CD collection "The Complete Works of Robert Burns" from Linn Records arrived today.

I told my wife after supper "If I start listening now, I should be finished by 6am tomorrow" She thinks I'm kidding!

Anyway, many different artists, simple arrangements, excellent!

To add to the week, I received my 5 yard Isle of Skye 16 oz wool kilt from Scottishkilts.net on Tuesday. Pics later. You need to see it in the sunlight to appreciate the subtleness of the colors. I ordered it the day after Christmas and it was here on the 23d of January.

I got some more leather and I've started two more sporrans this week.
I'm back in business if anyone is interested in a custom sporran.

    Tom

I searched the Linn records 12-volume cd listings for a sample, or even a listing of a complete recording, of "A Bottle and Friend", which is categorized as a song in the collected works of Burns. No luck. Does anyone know what tune this is set to?

Wow, that's a lot of music. They still left out some favorites, that were covered by Jean Redpath in her 7 album Burns set, such as the ribald " will please a lady." Which can be heard here.

    Best regards,

    Jake
