The colors of the MacKay modern kilt Terry will be getting are actually much darker than in the photo he posted, so don't let that fool ya. It's really a dark bottle green, navy blue, and black -- think Black Watch in terms of color.

My reccomendation is to get garters in all three colors in the kilt itself -- bottle green, navy blue, and black. That way no matter what color kilt hose you choose to wear, you can always tie in to the color of the kilt with the garters. Also, if you like to wear black shirts, the black garters will again tie in to your shirt, regardless of what color hose you wear.

    Aye,
    Matt

I looked at the tartan and I would recommend Black.

Without looking at any tartan I would recommend to a fellow kiltie a set of Black and a set of Red flashes. I have a whole big box of flashes and those two get more use than the rest of the lot put together.

    Cheers

I agree with McMurdo I always wear either red or blue garters with any kilt I have. Although I plan to pick up some Lovat Green ones from Matt before long

I'd suggest you consider getting both bottle green and navy blue. That should cover many of your dressing options with this tartan.

My "go to" garter colors are red, blue, green, and gold. If I win the lottery I'd own every color knit garter shown in Matt's photo!
