I doubt that that is an accurate finding. Possible, but doubtful. I can ask my friend who is a geneticist next i see her.

I have very blue eyes when I wear blue. Otherwise it is less blue, more like hazel.
Are we related?

Wally! You're my long lost twin brother... Not sure how you ended up older than me, but that's OK.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Blue eyes are a recessive trait... both parents have to give you the aleal (sp?) for blue eyes, or your eyes aren't blue. That said... the Norsemen who found Vinland apparently stayed long enough to have children with the indigenous peoples they found there, because there are many stories of blue-eyed indigines in the north-eastern parts of North America, even before mixing with English settlers.

That's exactly what I thought(woohoo for high school biology). I've also heard that having green eyes is just a variation of having brown eyes.

Haha. I think it just means you have newer genes. Nice try though.

Close... upon channelling my inner Gregor Mendel, I remember it as 'allele'. One thing I retained from those science classes years ago. Regardless of whoever I may be distantly related to, Mom is dark brown/brown, and Dad is dark brown/blue. My brother's brown/brown, and I luckily turned out brown/blue.

Dark brown eyes here, with dark brown hair w/ reddish tint (though the grey is taking over )...
Dad has brown eyes (not as dark as mine) & brown hair, Mum has green eyes & dark brown hair -- her people (Moore's) back in Missouri Ozarks had alot of bright blue eyes & reddish hair.
My 8 yr old daughter was born dark haired / blue eyes, but recently her eyes are starting to turn greenish(!!).
