I wonder why he won't deal in material. A few bolts of cloth wouldn't take up much storage space and it would be easy to cut a length, fold it, and ship it off for a quick profit.

Thanks for letting us know that information, Nighthawk... In that case I think we should just let it be, and not bother him about all this. He does enough for us as it is.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I believe all of Jerry's material handling is far from Minnesota. Anything other than his catalog presents an expensive shipping issue for him. He is very upfront on what he cares to do. He does what he knows he can reliably do well, that is why his service is so good.

I was actually thinking about buying another Nightstalker and ripping all the stitching out to make my own belted plaid.

If that's possible, then there's an option. I don't really know much about the construction of the standards, but I have read about the econimies being uncut at the fell, or made from a solid strech of fabric when un-seamed... I ain't touching mine...

You would need to rip apart 2 of them and sew them together though. Let us know how that works out for you.

Hmm, well luckily they aren't that much, but still... I don't know, ruin a perfectly good kilt?

I was actually thinking more along the lines of getting a thrifty and trying it out on that first. That way, I'm only out $30, and not $80... if I screw it up.

Only if I wanted a great kilt, which I don't. I can't handle the heat- I'm a very hot blooded person. I would dehydrate and die in a great kilt, and I don't want that...

Hey Nighthawk, why don't you just buy one of the Nightstalker tartan fly plaids and wear it like a... cape maybe. I think that would be called a brat, but that might give you the look you're looking for in the end.
