Wish I could stay overnight, but have to do church the next AM...damn!!!
Another option, if someone is willing, would be to have someone drive those who need to return that night to the train station in Hudson, which isn't that far from Chatham.
Since the area of the GW bridge can be very confusing, how about we meet up on 200th and B'way, which is right off the West Side Hwy on the way to the Henry Hudson. It's also a stop on the A train..there's a good diner there for breakfast....

And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)

That location works for me, if I'm able to go. What time do you have in mind?

is this actually a "kilted" event?

Check this link out. It's in Chatham, NY, a couple hours north of the city. With an early start, it could be a daytrip...a long day, but sounds like lots of fun! I think we have enough cars if the Manhattan folks are willing to meet drivers outside the city...any interest?

I got an e-mail from Annie Macpherson who runs the event. She'll even give the X-Markers who show up a slot in the clan parade!
I usually go in my 1745 jacobite garb....

One Question; Is this a Kilted, Celtic event, Will there other Kilted folk in attendance?

Staying for a night does sound like a good option. Especially if we plan on hitting the beer tent more than once or twice. We could always have two or three cars though if some want to return that evening.
Ben
Do we have an official head count/ Wheels who is actually willing to car pool?

my girl and our son will most likely be going. we've talked about going since before the parade.(which, BTW, was great...a bit short but great)
As far as car space?!? I have only a Saturn and with the wee ones car seat, that don't leave much room.
oh...side note, any way I can get copies of the pictures that were taken at the parade??

It looks like this is probably a go. So far, it seems like the following are interested:
Andrew
Ben (Driver?)
Glenn and Beth (Driver?)
David
Keith and wife (Driver?)
and maybe
Gilbert
NJ Lawyer (Driver?)
So...
Who among you actually are drivers and are willing to share rides?
How many riders can you take?
Who needs a ride?
Who needs to be back Sat. PM?
Once I figure it out, I'll post polls about meet-up place, time, etc.
And we need a war cry for the parade.....

? Path station < Path are limited to lower manhattan, with the most northern/uptown smack in the middle 34 street Herald Sqr MAJOR Crowd bad traffic, for a Car pool pick meet up spot ? I think most of the JERSEY Kilt Crowd would come into the city via Railroad/ <42 street >Lincoln Tunnel or Port Authority Bus
How about the choice between uptown 200 street and maybe 42 Street 8/9 th Avenues? This way people coming from the East side of manhattan can come straight cross town. Those coming from Queens (A/C/E/7) Brooklyn "A" , 2/3 trains can also easily reach 42 street-TIMES Sqr, and folks from Jersey regardless if driving or Bus Port Authority
