    The hide is 3 to 3.5 oz elk skin. I bought a couple of those and a 4 oz deer skin as I had run our of black leather. I've never seen one before with such a distinctive grain. I have to wonder if it was "enhanced" at the tannery. Whatever, It makes a pretty unique sporran.
