I think my fellow Marines will agree; Unless you've lived as a Marine, served as a Marine and sacrificed as a Marine, you should not wear the symbols that we earned as Marines.
I would never dream of passing myself off as a clergyman, fireman or police officer.
I have little patience for "posers".

I am making the assumption that you are a former Marine or present Marine.
Having said that, the colors don't really look right, but that may be a problem with the camera. Th knit cap, looks a little, well inappropriate.
I wouldn't do it, but I guess it's OK.

Sorry, just wandering by. It's my understanding that our friend Warlock, is indeed, a Marine.
I think the colors look pretty darned cool with the subdued device.

That is incorrect.

I'll have to agree with some of the others here. I'm retired Navy and feel that official military emblems should be earned through service. However, that is just my opinion and this is a free country.

I also think they actually do have their own tartan as well...as now do Law Enforcement.
My friend is a marine and he is doing similiar with his plaid brooch...in fact he purchased the brooch today at the Southern Maryland Celtic and Highland games.
Was awesome day out there. I just wish I could find my camera.

My genuine apologies, I stand corrected.

I'll wear the Leatherneck Tartan, but not the EGA badge. Out of respect for those that earned the title. If the EGA happens to be printed on a T-shirt or shorts, that would be my only exception.

My grandfather was a Marine in WWII. I was in the US Army a few years back. I didn't earn it, so would not wear it. That being said, if you earned the EGA, that would be a fine display. I don't think any self-respecting US Marines would be given any grief about colors, whether it looked "effeminate", or any other comments one would make.
