Congratulations on the upcoming Wedding! That's awesome.
Yeah, if you were doing it first then you two were definitely made for each other. Glad to hear you all had a great time.

The looming question is:
Who brought a SWORD to the campfire???
I mean, who says "Oh crap, turn the car around, I almost forgot my SWORD!"?

I don't know... I prefer bunny rabbit pajamas for fire dancing.
Congratulations on the upcoming wedding and marriage.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Of course, there are those rare few who always have a sword with them.

I think Ted hit on it - the sword is for protection from the rabid bunny rabbits

I just realized that there is a very ancient wedding service involving jumping over a sword....... maybe that was it?

Nope. One of the girls attending is a professional belly-dancer. The sword is one that she uses when she dances. We were all just drunk enough to try it, and just sober enough not to get ourselves hurt.

Traditionally that wedding service requires creature of the black lagoon pajamas for the sword leaping. However, because there was fire dancing along with the sword leaping, the bunny pajamas would be acceptable. I believe frogman flippers should be worn with the bunny pajamas, though.
Oops, guess they were just having fun.
BTW, my mother used to teach belly dancing and has one of those swords. If I remember, they aren't at all balanced at the hilt like a regular sword...

No, they're balanced in the center of the blade, and have a rough spot at the balance point to make them easy to balance on your head. The sword wasn't the dangerous part. Jumping over the bonfire was.
