Well done, MBP. Having a sash made for the lady was a wonderful idea!
And what a gorgeous tartan, I had not really noticed it in pictures of the band. Is it considered the band tartan, or the Scottish society, or district?

Fluter, the tartan was designed for the Montreat Scottish Society. The first run in 16 oz. wool was almost totally consumed by the band kilts and plaides. If there is a single kilt in that material other than the band kilts I'm not aware of it. Later on there was a run of shirt-weight cotton for covering panels and various other applications. Just last month a bolt of 100% acrylic was delivered. It is beautifully woven..much tighter and smoother than any other tartan acrylic I've seen (not "fuzzy" at all). I'm seriously considering a 5-yard casual with that fabric now that I've had a chance to handle it.
Thanks all for the compliments. My boy doesn't visit X-Marks very often, so I'll pass the comments on to him.

Congratulations. Very nice photo. I'm SO happy to see people wearing kilts to proms and not receiving negative press about it. Once again, congratulations!

Very nice. I think the matching tartan sash is a great idea. And your son's date is adorable.
