what colour of hose would be better with this tartan?

i've been looking at lovat green?

That would work but I would go with Lovat Blue

Colour of hose would depend on the colour your wearing on top(chest).
Please let us know what type of event it is or isn't to make a more informed answer.
Ie; black tie or just casual.

it'll be with a PC, white shirt and black bow tie

Well that's a easy one then cream colour.
This is quite a classic look.
What are you doing about your flashes/garter ties?
My advice would be to try to get those in tartan to match the kilt you've chosen.

i've got cream hose already, so thats a good thing.

my flashes are to be made out of the same tartan as the kilt
