I've had nothing but positive experiences wearing my kilt. Wore it to my new job a couple of weeks ago (a social service agency serving mainly Chinese refugees and immigrants) and the first comment was - "A kilt! Just like in Hong Kong!" (a former British colony).
I wear it regularly to church and the only comment is when I DON'T wear it. Even the gangbangers on the street like it.
