I thought that I would try another wool kilt at the next dance. I just ordered another SWK Heavy Duty kilt. I ordered the Solid Black "Shadow Tartan".

I really thought I would buy an Alphakilt or Utilikilt for my next kilt, however, I just can not bring myself to buy one. Perhaps if I were able to try one on before purchasing I might think differently. I think that for me the style of an Alphakilt and Utilikilt looks a bit skirtish. I am guessing that if I were brave enough I would lean towards an Alphakilt. One thing that does really turn be off about the Utilikilt is that for my size I would have to PAY an extra $30 to have ready made kilt cut to length rather than having it made to size in the first place.

Also, after having a tank I have fallen in love with the weight and feel of having many deep pleats. It is ultimate luxury like 'wearing a Packard'.

Well, I ordered the kilt 20 minutes ago. I should go check the mail as it probably has arrived.

Sounds like a great evening. Always nice to receive so many unexpected nice comments. I too don't know if I'm ready for a utilikilt, but certainly do like the feel of a tank.

A tank will make a impact where ever you go. Women seem to be attracted to a man with the confidence to go out and be comfortable and men seem to relate to the same thing!!!! Who said that women and men are totally different? Great story and it sounds like you had a great time even without your friends there.

I am thinking that I will wear a casual white button up shirt with white hose, but my tan boots to trim it down so that it does not look too formal. I will try to post pics before I go. I hope that at least my best friend and his wife go. She is a huge advocate of me to wear a kilt; to the point that if I go to their house that is what she expects to see me wearing.

That is a good choice. The fabric is just gorgeous.

One of its best features is that it literally goes with everything (even aloha shirts ).

I am spinning out of control. I ordered another SWK Heavy Duty yesterday (kilt #4) and now I just purchased kilt #5. It is my first 'modern' kilt.

    AHHHH!!!!!!

My jonesing for these two kilts is killing me!!! I am like a thirsty man crawling across the dessert.

The SWK should be here tomorrow, but the UK will be 7-10 days.

Of coarse I wear a kilt more and more....living in anything else is just plain uncomfortable.
