Always nice to have a lovely lass by your side to help boost your confidence. It is amazing to me how strapping on the kilt can suddenly make you stand taller and walk more proud and with purpose. Here's to your continued kilted success.

Good on you getting past your shyness. I'm not particularly shy I just don't care to be around alot of people usually. One of the side benefits of the kilt has been getting me more acustomed to talking to random folks. Kind of a kilted therapy. Keep rocking the kilt.

I have worn the tank to a rock and gem show, lunch at resturants, grocery store, beerfests, and scottish events. Wore the SWK to the movies and grocery store. For me the worst is what to do with my hands. I am a "pocket" guy, so the kilt leaves my hands free. I think its more of a hand thing than a kilt thing. So, what do you do with your hands? For me, pushing the cart works, or carrying an item. I guess the more I wear a kilt, the more I can train my hands

Well done! The kilt is a confidence booster, isn't it?

Yep, I'm very lucky to have Cynthia's support!
If it were up to her, I'd be in the kilt everyday
When I got the kilt, I figured--at best--I might wear it to a bar or a Celtic festival. I mainly got it for just around the apartment because I always wanted one, and I knew Cynthia loved kilts.
But that's changing.
I need a few more kilts, but right now I'm losing weight and will probably only get one more (and take the current one in), until the weight gets down to where it's going to stay.
Thanks for the reply,
Christopher

Congratulations Christopher! It really does get easier, as you are discovering. Cynthia, if only more women were as supportive of their men in kilts as you, there would be far fewer men in p@nts! Well done to you both!

Yes, that helped quite a bit!

Thanks, Tony.
The few times I've been out in the kilt, I'm reminded just how much the years of crippling shyness were holding me back--that things were much worse in my head.
People seem to either like the kilt, or just look at it like, "Hey, he's wearing a kilt..." and returning to their business. I haven't had a negative reaction, and if I do, I know the majority of people like seeing it, so who cares what a couple people out of many think.
Kilted therapy--I like that! I guess that makes XMTS a giant support group!

Last weekend we almost went to see Hellboy II. I was going to wear the kilt. We ended up seeing the movie on Thursday, and I wore jeans.
Once I get more accessories (and more kilts), I'm sure I'll wear the kilt out even more. The grocery store outing was a good start (and with summer heating up in North Texas, the freezer section felt nice ).
The hands/pockets thing...yes! I usually have a hand in a pocket when I'm standing around talking with people at work and outside work. With the kilt, obviously that's not an option (well, with the kilt I have).
I think that adds some confidence boosting for me, though. I used to be a bad fidgeter, so hands in my pockets prevented that nervous habit. Not having pockets, it's forced me to have to realize that there's no reason to fidget and do things with my hands.
(Now, if I can only break the talking with my hands habit... )
