Neither one of us got laid off. I gave notice 2 weeks ago that yesterday was to be my last day. I found a job that pays better.

Thumbs up A Memorable Last Day

What a great way to stage your exit (if somewhat early) that day. Proper and courteous notice given at the right interval. Compliant with their rules right up to the last day. No commotion, smartly attired, head held high and a smart kilt swinging to express one's personal style. That's the memory to leave behind as you stride with pride out the door!

All the better that you departed with style for a better paying position. We wish you all success in your new position. The question remains, is your new employer any more kilt tolerant in their dress code?

    Congratulations and keep us advised.

Gee, your former manager seems to have a chip on his shoulder. Sounds like it was a good idea for you to move to another position.
The attitude at my work isn't exactly compasionate lately, but I'm sure I wouldn't get that kind of reception.

    P.S. Now I'm glad I didn't buy that camera I was considering.

    Standing tall, proud, and FREE!

Did 12 years in a similar situation( sales and marketing) with Honeywell. Left on a similar deal. Turned out to be one of the greatest gifts I ever gave myself.
