from Chicago. I have three from Stillwater - 2 wool and one Thrifty. I heartily recommend them as a starter kilt. I got the Thrifty for St. Patrick's day because at $30 I didn't care if someone spilled beer on it.
For a first kilt though, I'd suggest the Standard ($75-85) or, my preference, the Heavyweight wool ($122-130). Good luck!

Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
The avatar is my SWK Standard, I also own some USAK Semi-traditionals and love the feel and comfort for all weather. Now after the first kilt there will soon be a second, then a third, and then a kollection. Welcome to the addiction and of course the rabble.

And thanks for the welcome guys. I'm in Georgia. Stone Mountain's coming up soon.
Hey, another Atlanta kiltie! Check out the thread on the upcoming kilt night. Your welcome to join even if your kilt is not here yet!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
