Time Change to 1:30 PM and Location Info
Greetings Rabble. Spoke to the Chair of the Games, Mr. James Hogg. Nice gent. Asked us to change the Meet Up Time to 1:30 p.m. They have moved the Opening Ceremonies up to 12 Noon. Also, he has made a place for us on the main thoroughfare, near the Clan Associations and Heavy Games. Look for an Official Looking XMarks Sign in those parts. Cheers.
"Before two notes of the theme were played, Colin knew it was Patrick Mor MacCrimmon's 'Lament for the Children'...Sad seven times--ah, Patrick MacCrimmon of the seven dead sons....'It's a hard tune, that', said old Angus. Hard on the piper; hard on them all; hard on the world." Butcher's Broom, by Neil Gunn, 1994 Walker & Co, NY, p. 397-8.

And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)

Thanks for the update. The Caledonian Club travel option should greatly facilitate attendance by NYC Metro rabble. Great news. Cheers!

Our Highland dance group is going to perform at the LI Games this Saturday 8/23. We'll do a mini show on the main stage at 10, and then on the dance stage at 11 and 1. I hope I get to see you guys! You can see our picture on the games website (entertainment).

Ok, I've made up my mind, and will be heading out to the Island with the Caledonian club. Hope to meet you guys who've not yet joined with the NY Metro Rabble for kilted outings, as well as the local Rabble who are familiar faces.
It looks to be a glorious day for a festival.
